PLANETNOTION TELEVISION!
CAMERA-FOLK AND FILM EDITORS WANTED!
Planet Notion is looking for guys and dolls to film and edit features for its new TV channel, PNTV. Accompanying Notion to artist interviews, gigs, fashion shows, festivals and international events, you will be skilled, passionate and full of ideas about how to produce shit-hot video content. Camera-folk will be experienced and ideally have their own equipment, or at least access to equipment, while editors must be able to turn projects around quickly, and with stylistic flare. If you can both film and edit content, we would especially like to hear from you! These casual, unpaid positions would be ideal for those looking to develop their showreels, and to get the chance to travel, film major artists and top events.

Ugh... My Chemical Romance to cover Bob Dylan!
Ugh... My Chemical Romance to cover Bob Dylan!
25/07/2008
Um, are my poor tired eyes deceiving me? I’ve rubbed them several times and looked over this story again and again and again; but it still says the same god-damn thing: My Chemical Romance are going to be covering a Bob Dylan song… ugh!

That ‘ugh’ was not an attack on the good name of monsieur Dylan. Oh no, no. That would be somewhat blasphemous. It’s just that Planet Notion hates nothing more than bands that are so far adrift of legendary artists, covering their songs… My Chemical Romance are emo for goodness sake. E. M. O... Emo!!! Again: Ugh…

Okay, sure, Johnny Cash managed to pull-off the whole “let’s cover some songs” shebang. Cash covered a whole range of different artists on his American Recordings series – but come on! Cash worked! Cash was gold! The American Recordings are friggin’ amazing! My Chemical Romance? Covering Dylan? It’s like spreading Marmite on a Custard Cream and washing it down with Cough Medicine.

Anyway, it’s all for a new film that’s coming out next year, based on the Watchmen graphic novels. Apparently there’s going to be a little bit of Hendrix, and a bit of Simon and Garfunkel thrown into the mix in order to give the film a retro feel. Hence the whole My Chemical Romance and Bob Dylan shebang…

Speaking to MTV about the band covering Dylan, 'Watchmen' director Zack Snyder said: "I've talked with [M.C.R. frontman Gerard Way] and I've heard a little bit of some stuff that's he's done and it's pretty freaking cool."

The Killers covered the Joy Division song 'Shadowplay' for the Ian Curtis biopic, Control, and to be fair, they did a pretty good job... Let's just hope My Chemical Romance manage to do Dylan a similar justice. Although something tells us that hoping might not be enough. DD
