17/07/2008 Ugh; The Feeling... You could never imagine them downing two bottles of Vodka a day and fleeing to Dublin with a 19 year-old Russian they’d picked up in a seedy bar in Soho. Still, they seem happy enough; and they did record a music video yesterday in just 24-hours. Which is like, a day! Most impressive…
The London-based five-piece teamed up with Intel Centrino, Capital 95.8, Universal Music and Island Records to record the video. It was a bid by computer giants Intel to demonstrate how technology can be used to create works by musicians and artists quickly and efficiently. And it worked.
Speaking ahead of the 24 Hour Challenge, Dan Gillespie Sells, lead singer of The Feeling, commented: “We’re always looking to try new things and experiment not only with our music but our art as a whole. The 24 Hour Challenge sounds pretty daunting but we’re up for it and hope our fans enjoy the experience as much as we do”.
The Feeling teamed-up with video director Caswell Coggins, who used Intel’s mammoth technology to develop, shoot, and edit the video. From what we can gather, the band dressed-up like Nick Nack from ‘The Man With The Golden Gun’ and pranced around a large field like a herd of Gazelles.
Regardless, Capital 95.8 broadcast live reports throughout the day, and as soon as the band finished they headed straight to the studio for a live performance of new single ‘Join With Us’. You know, the annoying one from the car advert… The footage will be broadcast on T4 later this month.
The Feeling are one of only two bands to wrap-up a video in 24-hours. The other was The Buggles, whose video for ‘Video Killed the Radio Star’ was the first to be aired on MTV in 1981. DD |
