 Luke Pritchard, the one in The Kooks who looks a bit like Bette Midler with a perm, has laid into The Pigeon Detectives.
Pritchard, the singer in The Kooks, was speaking to the Daily Star when he attacked the Yorkshire five-piece. Albeit, verbally.
“When we first came out it was a cool time,” commented Pritchard, referring to the bands induction into the public gaze - as there’s no evidence to suggest they’re homosexuals.
“The Kaisers, Arctics and Bloc Party [were] on the same circuit. I don’t think many people would place us with those acts, but at the time I really felt part of that whole movement,” he continued.
“It’s funny what’s followed. Bands like The Pigeon Detectives took what was there and slightly diluted it.” Which is a nice way of saying they’re a bit crap.
Alas, The Kooks release new single ‘Shine On’ later this month, and set off an American tour in September. DD |
