One of the finest one day festivals to grace our green and pleasant pastures, or, um, Clapham Common, Get Loaded in The Park returns on August 24th. With the final line-up announced, we present you with a short and sweet run-down.
Iggy and The Stooges – yes, the Iggy and The Stooges will headline the main stage, with artists including Brit-pop middleweights Supergrass, Gogol Bordello, The Hives and Plastic Little also confirmed.
Noah and The Whale are the final act to join the main stage. In keeping with Get Loaded’s annual tradition of promoting beyond minor, below major, soon to be massive talent, big things are expected of the folk-rockers this year. As if that wasn’t enough to give you semi or wide-on, legendary beatbox champion, Beardyman, will host the main stage.
Of the three other areas, the XFM Stage will welcome artists including Kate Nash, Reverend and The Makers, Wiley, and Midnight Juggernauts; whilst highlights on the Together/Time Out ‘Dance Stage’ include the formidable talents of Gossip, Metronomy, Streetlife DJs, Soulwax and a Mylo DJ set.
Finally, celebrating their 10th Anniversary, Finger Lickin’ Records will play host to luminaries including Krafty Kuts, Utah Saints, Plump DJs, DJ Yoda, and Soul of Man. Oh, and in order to make the one day festival an all-nighter, Get Loaded has revealed details of their after party: Get Loaded in The Dark. See what they did there?
Original party beast, Bez, will be DJing a mere walk away from the festival at the Clapham Grand, as will Reverend and The Makers front man Jon McClure. Among those joining the pair, will be DJYoda, Streetlife DJs, and Beardyman.
As an added incentive, Get Loaded have teamed-up with Manchester fashion brand Gio-Goi, offering the first 50 people through the door a limited edition 'Get Loaded Gio-Goi’ t-shirt.
