PLANETNOTION TELEVISION!
CAMERA-FOLK AND FILM EDITORS WANTED!
Planet Notion is looking for guys and dolls to film and edit features for its new TV channel, PNTV. Accompanying Notion to artist interviews, gigs, fashion shows, festivals and international events, you will be skilled, passionate and full of ideas about how to produce shit-hot video content. Camera-folk will be experienced and ideally have their own equipment, or at least access to equipment, while editors must be able to turn projects around quickly, and with stylistic flare. If you can both film and edit content, we would especially like to hear from you! These casual, unpaid positions would be ideal for those looking to develop their showreels, and to get the chance to travel, film major artists and top events.

TOUR STARTS THURSDAY 17 MAY: Pull Tiger Tail came roaring into 2007 with new single, 'Let's Lightning', and support dates with Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly, We Are Scientists and Pigeon Detectives. Now they are on yet another mighty tour of the UK, stopping off at a few of the festivals on the way. This is set to be their year as the maverick alt-pop trio will be able to claim the world and his cat as their best mates. Pull Tiger Tail are Marcus Ratcliff (lead vocals / guitar / keyboards / stuff), Jack Hamson (drums / backing vocals) and Davo McConville (bass / backing vocals / keyboards / more stuff), an early-twenties trio of adopted Londoners. Together they inhabit a world where Gerald Durrell, Daft Punk, Aristotle and Debbie Harry are just a few of their many gods. The trio combine musical ambition with a DIY aesthetic, creating modern day anthems. with lyrics that explore the idea of turning negative traits into positive ones by becoming the best bad person you can be (and rendering decades of self-help literature pointless in the process), 'Let's Lightning' rides on waves of chiming guitars, rolling drums and a surging chorus, to one almighty climax. Dates are as follows: May 17 – Cardiff Coal Exchange (NME Tour) May 18 – Northampton Roadmender (NME Tour) May 19 – Sheffield Plug (NME Tour) May 21 – Middlesbrough Empire (NME Tour) May 22 – Glasgow Arches (NME Tour) May 23 – Edinburgh Liquid Rooms (NME Tour) May 24 – Manchester Club Academy (NME Tour) May 26 – Nottingham Rescue Rooms (NME Tour) May 27 – Dot To Dot Festival, Nottingham May 28 – Birmingham Academy 2 (NME Tour) May 29 – London Koko (NME Tour) May 30 – Brighton Concorde 2 (NME Tour) May 31 – Norwich Waterfront (NME Tour) June 5 – World Environment Day Trust, Koko London June 8 – Popstarz, Scala, Kings Cross, London June 11 – Newcastle Academy 2 June 12 – Glasgow Barfly June 13 – Manchester Night & Day June 14 – York Fibbers June 15 – Leeds Cockpit June 17 – Bristol Academy June 18 – Wolverhampton Little Civic June 20 – Southampton Joiners June 21 – London Islington Bar Academy July 14 – Guilfest, Guilford August 5 – Electric Gardens Festival, Kent August 10 – Underage Festival, Victoria Park, East London August 11 - Underage Festival, Victoria Park, East London

TOUR STARTS APRIL 19: Tour SUgly Duckling are one of hip hop’s greatest unknown pleasures, being perhaps the finest exponents of party cuts you could ever hope to get your groove on to. Comparisons with De La Soul circa ‘Three Feet High And Rising’ have followed this Long Beach based trio wherever they have gone, but that is to miss much of their magic. Their satirical take on modern American culture and politics will have you grinning as much as their heavy funk and heavier rapping will have you whooping it up with pleasure. Ugly Duckling are purveyors of pure classic hip hop, and that is, of course, relentlessly energetic and inventive. Do yourself a favour and let these Californians show you how it’s done. APRIL 19th - Academy, Manchester 20th - The Plug, Sheffield 21st - Bongo Club, Edinburgh 22nd - Classic Grand, Glasgow 24th - Ryde Theatre, Isle Of Wight 25th - Bath Moles 26th - Mean Fiddler, London 27th - Consortium, Bournemouth 28th - Fiddlers, Bristol

APRIL 19/20: One of the strangest experiences of my 2006 was standing in a crowded bar in Camden at 5pm watching Wolfmother play to about 200 people, while outside people queued up for the bus home after work. It was the beginning of the Camden Crawl, undoubtedly one of the highlights of the year for those who like their concert-going to be intense and compacted. This year sees the event expanding to a second day, so expect two lots of 12 hour stints of some of the finest music you’re likely to hear all year. At the time of going to press, line-ups were still to be announced, but be warned, you ignore this inner-city festival at your peril. With 80 bands playing at 15 venues all within walking distance of each other, expect much mayhem and some revelatory sets that will start to crystallise the movers and shakers for the coming year. Our only advice to you is to wear sensible shoes. APRIL 19th+20th - Various Venues Camden, London. Go to www.thecamdencrawl.com for more info . Text: Karl O'Keefe
